Indulge in imagination for a moment with me
I know things feel heavy right now. The news is relentless, the stakes feel enormous, and it's totally justified to feel worn down.
I want to offer something different today: hope with a deadline. In ten days, we have the chance to change the direction of this country.
Indulge in this with me for a moment: imagine what it looks like if we take back the House.
A Congress that checks power instead of rubber-stamping it. Real oversight. Real accountability. Leaders who answer to voters, not to whoever happens to be in the White House.
A Congress that works on your costs. Lower health care costs. Protecting the programs families count on. Making sure the economy works for people who work for a living, not just those at the very top.
A Congress that listens. One where the people who show up, organize, and vote have more say than the people who write the biggest checks.
None of this is guaranteed. But it is within reach, and it's closer than it feels. Every House seat matters, and what we do in the next ten days could tip the balance. The light at the end of the tunnel is real, and we get there by tightening our grip and showing up in the next ten days.
Now, indulge a little more: imagine not just being on the defensive. Imagine not having new atrocities to protest every week. Imagine headlines that gave you hope instead of reading like a Mad Libs game of the worst things you could think of. That's what I'm thinking about in the final ten days: real progress.
Take a deep breath. We're almost through this.
Yours in the fight,
Jim McGovern
