Here's the thing
I'm asked often about what gets me out of bed, what's the fire behind my passion.
It's pretty simple — when every other push notification is about the latest failure by our government, it's pretty damn hard not to get worked up.
Every time this Republican-led Congress ignores working families, I work harder to center them in everything I do. Right now, working families can't make ends meet because of rampant inflation and egregious legislative priorities from the Republican yahoos calling the shots. They don't have lobbyists, and they shouldn't need them.
When politicians continue to ignore our nation's escalating hunger problem, I make it a priority, year after year. It's 2026, and Republicans in Congress are still cutting food assistance and health care so billionaires can keep their tax breaks. That's not just a budget call — it's a political decision about who matters.
Last month, a bipartisan bill I wrote with a Republican colleague to deliver medically-tailored meals to seniors with serious illnesses cleared a key House committee. It was a reminder that when we put people first, we can still get things done. We shouldn't have to fight this hard to feed people, but I'll keep fighting.
Here's the thing: all of this passion only turns into action with your help. This campaign isn't funded by corporate PACs or dark money. It's funded by people like you chipping in what you can. That's the kind of support that lets me say what I really think, even when it's inconvenient or unpleasant for the MAGA cronies or corporate special interests. So will you pitch in to keep this campaign honest and unafraid to tell uncomfortable truths?
I'm not letting up until we take back control of the House and get back to work for you.
In Solidarity,
Jim
