The grocery list and appetite are both dwindling with every push notification

Glass in the popsicles. Metal in the sourdough. Ink in the tofu. Cyclospora in the lettuce. E. Coli in the berries. Salmonella in mangoes, granola, radishes, alfalfa sprouts, jalapeños and more.

It's almost as if cutting staff and funding at the agencies that inspect food and track foodborne illnesses comes at a human cost.

But Donald Trump knows that. He's only concerned with "deregulating business" and finding new ways to illegally make money (read: sticking it to Democrats and sucking up to corporations). Trump doesn't give a damn about kids getting injured from recalled popsicles they pick up on a hot day.

How insane and sadistic.

Too many Americans are already going hungry because of Trump's cuts to SNAP benefits, rising food prices, and his overall refusal to address the hunger crisis. And now, many more are suffering at their own dinner tables because of the science-denying buffoon he put in charge of our food and health systems.

When positions are cut at the CDC and FDA, it's not only those workers and their families who suffer the loss of income; the public loses critical oversight that keeps them safe. The Trump administration isn't just a danger to Americans' wallets but to their health too.

November is our chance to start bringing back sanity and safety to our government.
