Health care stories Republicans don’t want you to know about
Republicans like to think their "Big Beautiful Bill" that cut Medicaid and the Affordable Care Act didn't actually hurt anyone. Absurd. I recently spoke up and told the stories of some of the people who are already being hurt by this inhumane bill.
Kathey and Jeffrey own a garage door installation and repair business in Vermont. They said that their health care premium was jumping from $625 per month to $2,760 per month, and the cheapest alternative they could find was still around $2,000. Because of the price jump, Kathey and Jeffrey dropped their coverage. They can't afford it. They're now uninsured.
Eric, a chiropractor, and his wife Lisa, who live in New Jersey, said their premium was set to skyrocket to $1,928 per month, up from $340 per month, so they decided to go without coverage. They're health care providers who can't afford health care. They're now uninsured.
Caitlin, a single mom and social worker in Nevada, had her premium jump from $85 to $750 per month. She said she's likely to drop her coverage so that she can afford coverage for her 4-year-old daughter.
There are thousands more stories like these across the country. This is the economy Trump and Republicans have built and are selling to the American people.
I believe everyone in America deserves quality, affordable, accessible health care. It's why I'm running for reelection, and it's why I'm working every day to protect people's health care. This work is important to me, and I believe we can make life better for Kathey, Jeffrey, Eric, Lisa, Caitlin, you, your neighbors, and every American.
Affordable health care and decency for all,
Jim
