It’s time for us to meet this moment with the urgency it demands!
I'm still buzzing with excitement and purpose from this morning's Massachusetts Democratic Convention right here in the Heart of the Commonwealth.
There's nothing quite as energizing as a roomful of progressives committed to getting into good trouble, fighting the infection of Trumpism, and rebuilding our democracy – especially when that room is here in my hometown.
With all my heart, I love this city; Worcester isn't a place that sits around and waits for history to happen – we grab destiny and make history. From championing human rights to kicking out kings, we've forged our legacy through decisive and purposeful action.
Today, I talked about history, and how the stories we tell matter, because the same question that's echoed throughout every great struggle in our nation's history is being asked of us once more:
Are we going to move forward together toward the America promised to so many? Or will we let the forces of hate, greed, and fear continue to erode our rich foundation?
I know MY answer. I know YOUR answer – and when it comes to billionaire donors and their Republican puppets – we know their answer too...
I'm tired of hearing that for Democrats to win in November, we have to narrow our vision and water down our message. It's our commitment to our vision that makes us strong: we refuse to ask American children to go to bed hungry; we refuse to abandon the working class; we refuse to shrink when millions need Medicare for ALL; and we refuse to look away from what's happening in Gaza and abandon foreign policy rooted in human rights.
When Americans everywhere want us to fight back, dammit, we put everything on the line and fight back harder. Let's meet this moment with the urgency it demands.
