Digging our heels in
Before anything else: thank you.
Thank you for preserving our democracy, whether you're speaking out, hitting the streets, stocking a food pantry, protecting your neighbors, amplifying important stories, or simply uplifting one another. This is a tough chapter for our country. But people like you are the reason I still believe in where we can go next.
Right now, we are doing two things at once:
- Holding Donald Trump and his allies accountable for the damage they are doing, and
- Laying the groundwork to take back the House so we can stop that damage at its inception.
Just like managing a household budget, these numbers aren't abstract or arbitrary. These numbers inform how many organizers we can put on the ground. They determine whether we can reach voters early, cut through the noise, and build real momentum. And they power the phone calls, the volunteer trainings, the outreach, and the work that wins elections.
Taking back the House is going to require early action from all of us. At midnight tonight, we have our first major hurdle to clear: we are just 47 contributions short of reaching our end-of-quarter supporter goal.
I am proud of what we are building together and grateful for your support. Whether it's making a donation, volunteering, phone-banking, participating in a poll, sharing campaign materials on social media, or helping folks check their voter registration — all of these things make a difference come Election Day.
More soon,
Jim McGovern
