Too much is at stake to sit back or sugarcoat it.

Since January, I have taken to the House floor again and again in an attempt to shake my Republican colleagues awake to the monster they've created.

I have fought to stop unauthorized wars before they start. The Constitution is clear: Congress decides when this country goes to war. Not the President acting alone. Not political games. I have led efforts to force votes, demand accountability, and push back against another endless conflict that costs lives and drains resources from our communities.

At the same time, I have been sounding the alarm about hunger in America. Yes, hunger — in the wealthiest country in the world. For years, and most recently as part of my End Hunger Now Massachusetts tour, I have traveled the country and brought those stories back to Washington because everyone deserves to have enough nutritious food to eat. Instead of strengthening nutrition programs, Republicans are trying to gut them. I will not accept that. Not now. Not ever.

I have also stood up against dangerous immigration policies that ignore basic rights and dignity. Any funding bill must include real guardrails. We cannot allow unchecked enforcement that violates civil liberties and tears families apart.

As I've told every elected official I encounter: Everyone is afraid of that guy in the White House. But maybe Members of Congress should be more concerned with the impact these decisions are having on their constituents than they are with satisfying the President's whims. Maybe they ought to listen to their constituents because they're sick and tired of this BS. They want Congress to be a body that fights for them — that fights to improve the quality of life for ordinary people.

That's what this work is to me. Listening to and legislating for our community. We are approaching the first FEC end-of-quarter deadline of the Election Year, and I need your help to ensure we can keep fighting back — through the entirety of Trump's reign of terror. Can you chip in $12 today?

These fights are connected.

They are about whether our government works for people or power. Whether we invest in dignity or double down on cruelty. Whether we follow the Constitution or ignore it when it is inconvenient.

I am raising my voice. I am forcing these debates. But I cannot win these fights alone.

Every dollar helps us push back, speak out, and organize for what comes next, and most importantly: uplift progressive candidates for Congress who will actually help hold the GOP accountable for their cruelty.

DONATE NOW

I am not backing down. Not on war powers. Not on hunger. Not on human rights.

Thank you for standing with me in this fight.

More soon,

Jim
