Use it or lose it, folks!

Donald Trump has made no secret of his disdain for our democracy.

He's made repeated allusions to an unconstitutional third term, he's mused openly about canceling the midterm elections, and let's not forget when he encouraged an armed mob to storm the Capitol and use any means necessary to overturn the results of an election he lost.

It's alarming enough to see the President of the United States use his words to disparage the ideals this country was founded on. Even more so when he starts to use the government to act on his threats against democracy.

In the last few months this administration has:

  • Sent the FBI to raid and seize ballots from the Fulton County, GA Office of Elections, based on "intelligence" from an avowed 2020 election denier.
  • Made changes in USPS policy around ballot postmarks in an effort to get more ballots disqualified.
  • Pushed for passage of the SAVE Act, the most restrictive voting legislation in American history.
  • Signed executive orders to give the Federal government more control over elections than states.

These attacks on our democracy only serve to underscore the importance of this year's midterm elections. If the Republican Party is still in control of the House come 2027, they'll take it as permission to enact the worst, most authoritarian, and regressive parts of their agenda.

We can't let that happen. As the saying goes, we've got to use it or lose it, folks.

Half-measures and small margins will not do the trick. Democrats need to compete in every single district across this country to emphatically, once and for all, reject the fascist, un-American, MAGA agenda in November. Donate to my campaign today and stand with us in the fight for our country's future.

Onward,

Jim
