Not one red cent.

7 years ago, I made a promise not to take corporate PAC money. Not a single dollar, not one cent.

It would've been much easier for me to do what so many other politicians have done and look the other way on the flood of dark money entering politics.

But I chose to do it this way because I believe that people, not corporations, should have the biggest say in our democracy.

That's why I'm proud to be endorsed for re-election again by End Citizens United, and to stand with them in the fight against big money in politics. Here's what ECU President Tiffany Muller had to say about my endorsement:

"Corruption in Washington is directly undermining the economic security of working families and making basic necessities like healthcare unaffordable," said End Citizens United President Tiffany Muller. "Representative McGovern understands that reality and has chosen a different path rooted in accountability. By refusing to take corporate PAC money, his constituents never have to guess who he is working for. That independence from corporate influence is essential to delivering the change families are demanding. We're proud to endorse Representative McGovern and we look forward to continuing to work with him."

We can lead by example, showing that unabashedly pro-democracy candidates can win without taking corporate PAC money. Will you chip in $13 to my campaign to lead the charge on dumping dark money?

Thanks to the Supreme Court's disastrous decision in Citizens United v. Federal Election Commission, the sums of money spent by corporations and special interest groups only get larger every year. In 2024, a record $1.9 Billion were spent by dark money groups in federal races.

The impact of this spending goes beyond the ballot box. It's why we've seen everything from tax breaks for corporations and giveaways to their CEOs (paid for by cuts to social programs, of course) to massive deregulation and attacks on the rights of working people, passed by a Congress whose campaign coffers are flush with corporate cash.

Americans deserve better than a system that can be bought and sold to the highest bidder, and I'm fighting to ensure that the voice of the people once again rings throughout the halls of Congress. Together, we can rebuild a system that puts people over special interests.

A donation to our campaign goes a long way in showing that elected officials don't need to be beholden to anyone other than our constituents. So please, donate what you can today.

Onward,

Jim
