At the most basic level, it is the government's responsibility to ensure a baseline level of dignity, opportunity, and stability for all Americans. That's why we have programs like Medicaid, SNAP, and Social Security, to name just a few. They ensure that the wealthiest nation in the history of the world does not have citizens who are sick, starving, or struggling.
This administration and its stooges in Congress have failed to live up to that basic responsibility.
In fact, they've made just about every aspect of American life worse by gutting the programs meant to protect the dignity of working people, lining the pockets of their billionaire allies, and implementing disastrous economic policies that have caused skyrocketing prices and unemployment.
Recent reporting shows that U.S. employers cut over 1.1 million jobs in 2025. That, paired with astronomical prices on everything from steel to your morning cup of coffee, is a real one-two punch for working people, courtesy of the GOP.
