Donald Trump are you listening? Voters are talking in NJ and VA
Today in New Jersey and Virginia, people in those two states (Virginia is a fellow Commonwealth, I am aware) have the opportunity to be the ultimate push back against what Donald Trump and Republicans are doing in Washington and across the country.
What happens in NJ and VA will have a ripple effect throughout the rest of the country. We've already seen extremism met with protest – now we have the chance to take our wins at the ballot box.
We've also got some local elections here in Massachusetts, including in MA-02 in Amherst, Greenfield, Leominster, Northampton, and Worcester. Find your polling place below and make sure you go vote!
Once the polls close tonight, the ballots are counted, and we have the results, our election cycle begins. In 2026, we have the opportunity to take back control of Congress and wrestle back the power that Speaker Johnson and Republicans in Congress have abdicated to Trump. With a majority, we can force Trump into making concessions, we can hold him accountable, and most importantly, we can make our government functional and serve the people who are being left behind and ignored.
But we can only do that if we win. And we can only win if we participate. Our democracy thrives when we protest, when we advocate, and when we use our vote as the powerful voice that it is. We are a country governed by ourselves. We decide our future.
Democracy is a treasure. Election Day is our chance to hold power to account.
