I made a promise in January
In January, I made you a promise not to back down. Not from decency, compassion, integrity, or plain old common sense. No one then, especially not me, could predict the scale of this administration's attacks on working families, on our democracy, and on those same values.
But I'm proud of the way we've weathered the storm.
In the face of threats, intimidation, retaliation, and everything in between, Democrats in Congress have stood strong to protect healthcare for millions and push back on Trump's attempts to grab more dictatorial power.
This week, voters across the country did the same by electing leaders who will protect working-class families, fight back against creeping authoritarianism, and stand up for our Constitution. From Virginia to California, we all spoke with a single voice, and that voice was clear as day: We won't back down.
Do you think the President and his cronies heard us?
As we head into 2026 and the midterm elections, we have a chance to reject MAGA fascism in the strongest possible terms, take back the House, and make sure that Donald Trump, Mike Johnson, and all their yes-men hear us loud and clear.
So rest up, enjoy this win, and then let's get back to work fighting for the America we know is possible.
More soon,
Jim
