The Art of the Deal, folks!

Yet another month under the Trump administration and we've seen everything from reckless and downright cruel economic policies to a drastic turn towards authoritarianism and the most brazen and open self-dealing of any presidency in American history.

We're coming up on our end-of-month fundraising deadline. A strong performance now will go a long way to taking back the house in 2026. Will you donate what you can to our campaign today and help us build momentum?

Here are just a few of the lowlights from this August:

CNN Headline: Hundreds of items just got a lot more expensive to import into the US because of Trump's tariffs.

Making America Expensive Again? Trump talks, we pay the price; that's been the story of the economy over the last month. With tariff and trade policies that seem to change with the President's mood, he's managed to negotiate us into a position where Americans are paying more than ever for less of the same things they were buying a year ago.

The Art of the Deal, folks!

NYT: Trump orders major expansion of National Guard's role in law enforcement.

Earlier this month, the President deployed armed National Guardsmen to D.C. and placed the DC Metro police under federal control, in what can only be described as a forceful occupation of the city. He claims, with no evidence, of course, that he's doing it to clamp down on crime despite falling crime rates in the city.

With his trial run complete, he's turned his focus to other predominantly Democratic cities, creating a new division of the National Guard to do the same in cities like Chicago, New York, and Los Angeles.

Rolling Stone: New analysis finds that Trump family has raked in $3.4 billion off the presidency. Subtitle: America's first family is conducting its grift in full view of the public, but the profits remain a guessing game.

It's no secret that Donald Trump only looks out for himself. In his years in the public eye, that's always been his image (even one that he himself puts forward). But what isn't widely known is the extent to which he is using the office of the President to enrich himself and his family.

New reporting shows that Trump and his family have gotten in over $3.4 billion as a result of cryptocurrency schemes, shady real estate transactions, and other assorted grifts. The presidency is a position of public trust, and he's violating that trust every single day to make himself richer while working families struggle to put food on the table.

Jim has been a thorn in this administration's side, but there's only so much that he can do in the minority. One of the best ways for us to counter and prevent the worst of the MAGA agenda is to take back the House majority. Will you chip in to our campaign ahead of our deadline to help put Democrats in the best position to fight back?
