Not even Donald Trump's $300 bottle of cologne will cover the stench

Donald Trump has shown us time and time again that he is a President who only cares about the wealthiest Americans.

It was evident from the countless CEOs he shared the dais with at his inauguration.

It was evident from his willingness to let the world's richest man run rampant through the federal government.

It was evident from the hundreds of millions of dollars in campaign donations from corporations and ethically questionable "gifts" he's received throughout his time in office.

His antipathy towards working Americans has become indisputable with the passage of his disastrous "Big Beautiful Bill". This is the most dangerous legislation in modern history — ripping health care from the sick, food from the hungry, and hope from working families, all to shovel more tax breaks to billionaires and corporate executives.

A family making less than $50,000 a year? They get less than $1 a day in tax cuts.

You can't buy a damn cup of coffee with that.

But those making a million dollars or more? They'll get more than $250 a day in tax breaks ... that's how rigged this bill is to benefit the wealthy.

The result? The single largest transfer of wealth from the poorest Americans to the wealthiest in our country's history.

The Atlantic Headline: The largest upward transfer of wealth in American history. House Republicans voted to advance a bill that would offer lavish tax cuts for the rich while slashing benefits for the poor

The richest 1% own more of this country's wealth today than in any other period in American history, but they seem to only want more and more. Speaker Johnson and congressional Republicans are all too willing to let them treat our government like a tag sale.

Why? They're looking out for themselves.

Everyone knows the fastest ticket out of Republican politics is to cross the Dear Leader. So they folded. They fell in line and voted for a bill that they know will wreak havoc upon their constituents and make just about every aspect of American life worse.

This bill reeks of Republican desperation, billionaire greed, and flat-out disdain for the working people who built this country and keep it running. Not even Trump's $300 bottle of cologne can cover up the stench.

More soon,

Jim McGovern
