The upcoming session
Happy New Year! Birds (and reporters) are chirping, gavels are banging, and legislation is being filed. That can only mean one thing: Congress is back in session.
Last year, we saw shining examples of the best that Republicans have to offer in the majority: petty power struggles amongst themselves, reckless attempts to cut Medicare and Social Security, and draconian efforts to control our bodies.
As we look toward 2024 — it's safe to assume that their priorities for the upcoming year will be more of the same. That's why my New Year's resolution is to take back the House majority.
It's time we get back to governing this country — rather than enduring their publicity stunts and attempts to roll back our rights. We cannot continue to waste the precious time that we could be using to address affordability, climate change, and the challenges Americans face daily.
In 2024, we need to elect leaders who share the concerns of their constituents and prioritize them — not those planning their next career move.
Let's make it a great year,
Jim
