My Dad has a huge heart

Jim's daughter, Molly McGovern here! This Father's Day, I wanted to share with you a bit about my Dad.

Remarkably, considering a tough work schedule, Dad was always there for my brother Patrick and me growing up. We'd take long walks around the neighborhood, talking about everything and nothing. We'd spend hours reading chapter books together before bed, frequently earning "just one more page." When I was about seven, the movie Journey to the Center of the Earth came out, and I desperately wanted to go to the center of the Earth. So Dad took us caving one Saturday. Needless to say it was quite the adventure! Now, as an adult, I reflect on how lucky we are to be his kids.

Years after bedtime routines and bedtime reading, Patrick and I can still always count on our Dad to be there for us.

He's got a huge heart. Not just for us — but as you can tell from his priorities in Congress and our community — for everyone.

For him, public service is about bringing people together and helping make life better for all families. That's why every day in Congress, he's working to end hunger, expand health care, and protect human rights. I'm proud to be his daughter and of the work he's doing.
