McCarthy doesn’t have the guts

While hardworking families struggle with soaring food prices and stagnant wages, Republicans laugh it off. Even worse, they're actively working to make things even harder with their regressive debt ceiling demands. It's like they enjoy watching people suffer.

I am fighting hard to get these heartless monsters out of the majority. But I can't do it alone; this fight is bigger than me anyway.

The stronger our movement, the sooner we can create a country where seniors and veterans know where their next meal comes from, where working moms and dads aren't clenching their teeth in the grocery store checkout line, and where every kid at school has a lunch.

That's what we're working toward every single month until we get our turn at the ballot box, and we've got a lot to do before then. Your $9 today helps build the power we need to take back the House and make hungry kids a thing of the past. Can you chip in now?

Republicans are aching to cut food assistance programs like SNAP and Meals on Wheels so they can turn around and give another round of tax breaks to millionaires and billionaires. There is no bottom to the shameful behavior here.

Favors for crooked billionaires instead of lifting up the working families who make this country run? It's nauseating.

So, I challenged Kevin McCarthy on the floor of the House to live on what the average SNAP recipient receives – $6 a day for just one week and see if it changes his mind.

The fact of the matter is that no one is lazy, except Speaker McCarthy, who will never have the guts to break away from the fancy lobbyist dinners to actually go to the grocery store and try to make $6 bucks work.

I know you're looking at these people and thinking it's unreal, it's unbelievable, but this is the reality that we're fighting in the halls of government every day.

If you can chip in, please do today, and let's put an end to this madness.

Yours in the fight,

Jim
