The impossible choices facing too many Americans

Imagine standing in line at the pharmacy counter, waiting to pick up your medication. But when you finally reach the front, the pharmacist tells you the price - and it's more than what you spend on groceries in an entire month. You're faced with an impossible decision: pay for your medication and risk not being able to afford food and rent, or skip your medication and risk your health.

This scenario is far too common in America today, and it's unacceptable.

What kind of sick, twisted world are we living in where people have to choose between their health and basic necessities like food and shelter?

Last year, every single Republican voted against lowering prescription drug prices. And now they control the House.

We need a strong Democratic majority ready to take on Big Pharma and fight for the well-being of every single person in this country.

The IRA is already helping to lower the cost of prescription medication for millions of seniors on Medicare, but it's only a first step. We must go further and make sure that every American can afford the medicine they need to stay healthy.
