BREAKING: The fight for medication abortion isn’t over. Not by a long shot.

Remember when Republicans claimed they just wanted abortion to be up to the states? We all knew that was a lie. Unfortunately, now we have proof.

Matthew Kacsmaryk, the most unhinged of Donald Trump's extreme judicial appointees just overturned the FDA approval of the abortion pill, mifepristone.

Any reasonable judge would have thrown this case out; it's a cynical, misogynist challenge to a safe, effective medicine that's been in use for more than two decades. But Kacsmaryk – who has no business issuing opinions from a park bench, let alone the federal bench – welcomed the bogus attack from the same right-wing religious extremists behind the Dobbs case.

You know as well as I do that the radical anti-choice right won't stop here.

Abortion remains legal in pro-choice states like Massachusetts, but this ruling may affect the availability of mifepristone.

Radical right-wing leaders are determined to create a world where a woman has fewer rights than her grandmother. It's an arrogant affront to human rights.

Know this: This isn't over. Not by a long shot. We're going to appeal this ruling in court. We'll challenge its enforcement. We'll organize. We'll vote.

And I'll repeat my promise to you: as long as I'm in Congress, I will fight for legislation to guarantee reproductive rights for all people, everywhere in this country.

We will win this struggle. For now, we fight on.
