Our movement spurred action on Capitol Hill
First off, a big thank you. Last week, we won the Democratic nomination to represent Massachusetts' 2nd District in Congress!
It's truly an honor and a privilege, and I'm deeply grateful to hardworking supporters like you for making it happen.
Now, it's on to November. I've never taken an election for granted, and I'm not going to this time either; Kevin McCarthy and the National Republican Congressional Committee have been saying for months that no Democratic seat is safe this year.
Can you chip in $8 to keep up our progressive fight in the House?
We made some real progress as a nation this summer. And while Republican leadership is working overtime to roll it back, you know as well as I do that we still have a lot more to do.
But baby steps are still steps. And slowly, we are moving forward.
Thousands have come before us, moving the nation forward, never giving up. American progressives have won many battles. And the fact remains: progress always moves slower than we'd like.
Our government spent many months at a standstill this year because of arrogant politicians who care more for their own power than fighting for working people. But now, at long last, we've made a little headway: Medicare and tax reforms, investments in clean energy, and student debt relief.
I want you to know that we made this happen together. It was progressive grassroots organizing and pressure that spurred action on Capitol Hill.
We can't afford to stop pushing. Radical Republicans are waiting in the wings to reverse even our smallest steps as part of their corrupt right-wing agenda. It's up to us to protect Medicare, abortion access, and our planet. And ensure everyone pays their fair share.
Let's find hope in our movement and those who came before us. Many fights have been fought and won. And we will continue that legacy this November.
