A true champion in the fight to end hunger

The House recently passed landmark legislation, including protecting the right to abortion, marriage equality, and the right to contraception.

We're making these strides thanks to our progressive majority in the House. This fall, we have to not only hold that majority but expand it.

But it won't be easy. Only five seats stand in the way of an extremist Republican takeover.

So, I want to tell you about another competitive race in New England: Connecticut's 5th District.

Jahana Hayes is an incredible Congresswoman. She's the first Black woman ever to represent Connecticut in the House. She's a progressive leader who delivers for her community in the 5th. We need her voice in Congress.

Will you donate $3 now and help Jahana Hayes stay in Congress?

As a former educator and national teacher of the year, Jahana knows firsthand how hunger can devastate our students' learning and livelihood. And she knows how decisions we make in Washington affect working families. That's why she fights so hard to make our government responsive, compassionate, transparent, and effective.

Jahana has a tough race this year. National Republicans have made her one of their top targets. And a national conservative group has already spent $300,000 in attack ads against her.

Her opponent? A Republican who bills himself as a moderate yet seeks the support of some extremist Republican leadership. There's not a doubt in my mind who he'll side with on important issues.

Jahana stands up for what is right. She's not afraid to speak truth to power. And she's a leader we can't afford to lose.

Can you give $3 to and keep Jahana Hayes in Congress?

Together we can keep Congress blue!
