Historic moves for climate and prescription drugs

Despite Republicans' best efforts, the Senate passed the Inflation Reduction Act this past weekend – 51-50.

This is a big deal. A really big deal.

Next, it's headed to the House, and I'm ready to help pass this historic legislation!

The Inflation Reduction Act is the largest investment in clean energy ever.

It will lower energy costs for Americans and create at least 500,000 jobs.

For too long, the climate crisis has driven up prices for working families, made weather more deadly and more unpredictable, and threatened our children's future. It's about time we took steps to combat it.

When this bill hits the House floor, I am all in.

Progressive legislation like this is possible. Can you chip in to help build the progressive majority up in Congress?

I'll let you in on something. Big Pharma doesn't want the Inflation Reduction Act to pass because they know it will help Americans spend less on medications.

Medicare will be able to negotiate drug prices, and there will be a $2,000 annual spending cap for Medicare users.

This will be a game-changer for our seniors and most vulnerable, who've had to choose between life-saving medication and putting food on the table.

The best part about the Inflation Reduction Act is that it won't raise taxes on working families. It will live up to its name and provide much-needed relief for Americans in all 50 states.

Is it a perfect bill? No. Do I wish it went further? Absolutely. But it is still a strong step forward, and I can't wait to vote yes.

Our slim progressive majority has passed some life-changing legislation. Just imagine what a stronger majority could do. Can you chip in now to build up the progressive majority in Congress?

The victories are coming closer together. Let's keep up the fight for an economy that works for everyone.
