The coup didn’t stop on January 6

On January 6, 2021, I presided over the House Chamber after security evacuated Speaker Pelosi. I was the last Member of Congress to walk off the House Floor. I was there. I came face to face with the violent mob trying to force their way in.

Watching the January 6 Committee hearings has brought me right back to the chaos and evil of that day.

The Committee’s videos, Officer Edwards’s harrowing frontline testimony, and the revelations of Trump’s approval of the violence should put to rest Republican arguments that that day was a normal tourist visit or a rally that got out of hand. The insurrectionists were there to spill blood and to end democracy in America.

Yet, Kevin McCarthy has made clear that, if Republicans take control of the House, they'll dismantle the investigation immediately.

We must continue to learn the truth about that day. Donate now to expand our majority in Congress and protect the investigation.

The coup didn't stop on January 6th. It's still going on, as Republican leaders do everything they can to deflect, distort, and outright lie in an effort to protect their dishonorable, disgraceful president.

And their chief goal: end the investigation. Bury the truth. Hope America forgets.

Well, we're not going to let them get away with it. It's wrong, plain and simple. And too much is at stake.

**Our democracy is in crisis, and we must meet this moment with the strength and courage needed to defend it. Will you donate $3 today to fuel the fight?
