If Jim Jordan and Kevin McCarthy gain power in the House, the most radical, irrational, vitriolic voices in the Republican party—the wingnuts who have spent the last few years living in an alternate dimension—would be dangerously emboldened.
This election is not about the traditional differences between Democrats and Republicans. It is about something more fundamental: preserving our democracy. We can bring back civility, decency, and integrity. We can build a better country, a country we all can believe in, a place of hope and opportunity for everyone, not just the rich and powerful.
