First one step, then another. Then miles more.

Up before dawn. Lace up my shoes. Wear a heavy coat, because it's a cold morning.

First one step, then another. Then miles more, alongside friends, neighbors, and my community.

Our cause? Hunger. Our goal? Raising awareness and small-dollar grassroots power to feed families.

The name? Monte's March. The date? November 22 and 23.

Please chip in $11 to this cause today. Monte's March is all about people-power.

Each year, I am humbled to walk alongside Monte Belmonte as he marches 43 miles against hunger in our Western Massachusetts community. Each year, we dig a little bit deeper, because there's no coming up short when something this important's on the line.

Year after year, generous contributions donate thousands upon thousands of meals to hungry people in our community. And they inspire others, myself included, to find as many new ways to help this cause as we can.

My work in Congress, including my bipartisan effort to have the White House hold the next major conference on hunger? It's directly informed by the conversations I have on Monte's March, by the impassioned pleas for aid from community advocates and leaders.

But, above all, this is about passion. Monte and I, along with each person who strides alongside us, is wholly dedicated to this cause. It's literally what gets us up in the morning—not just on walk day, but every day.

I'll be out there. And I hope to see some of you.

More soon.

PS. Can't make it on Monte's march this year? Chip in. Please. Help fund this fight.
