Sign the petition: end dark money in politics

When I learned that a hazy dark money group was spending millions of dollars to literally lie about some of my closest allies in Congress, of course I was upset.

They're already starting to lie their way to winning in 2022. I'm livid, but not surprised.

Why? Well, that's not hard to guess: Citizens United has created a campaign finance nightmare, one where honest people literally can't know who's behind the attacks against them. So of course super-wealthy special interests are hiding their greed.

Sign the petition: tell Congress to take on dark money and ensure that voters know who is paying for misleading attack ads.

In this case, my friends, two members of Congress from New Jersey, were facing attack ads that were lying about their support for expanding access to health care – not "distorting" or "misrepresenting" or "mining a gray area." Just lying, plain and simple. Claiming false things are true.

All to take control of Congress and gut health care and prescription coverage for millions of Americans.

While we suspect Big Pharma or their allies are behind the attacks, it's literally impossible to know unless they tell us. That's how bad it has gotten under Citizens United.

This is a story we've heard over and over since the Supreme Court opened the floodgates on dark money in politics. And, that whole time, the solution hasn't changed: Congress needs to aggressively address campaign finance reform.

I support that 100 percent. That's at the heart of why I'm organizing with other progressives both inside and outside of government to build a movement to finally get the job done.

Sign the petition: it's time to urge Congress to take on campaign finance reform and dark money in politics.
