Like I said, big stuff.

I've had my fair share of fights in Congress. Big efforts to end hunger, improve the quality and affordability of health care, and so much more.

But, to me, it always comes back to the beginning: if we can make lives better for families with young children, then we have to do it. That's our job.

A few weeks ago, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi joined me at the Rainbow Child Development Center in Worcester, where we laid out a plan to absolutely transform the way our government supports children. Basically the biggest effort I've ever been involved with.

What does it do? For starters:

  • Universal pre-K access
  • Expansion on tax credits for families with children
  • And crucial, massive investments in paid family leave, child care, and fighting hunger.

And that's all with an eye on outcomes that also address climate change.

Like I said, big stuff.

This is the kind of legislation Congress needs to pass.

Not tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

Not supporting efforts to overturn elections.

Not preserving Confederate statues.

We're here to improve the lives of families across Massachusetts and America. And I can't think of a more fitting way to do so than with a bill that will give all of our children a chance to follow their dreams.

This is going to absolutely be an uphill fight; Republicans have already begun slinging mud and signalling that they'll do anything they can to stop progressive reform. As usual.

And I'm ready to fight back. As usual.

Things are moving fast, and we're closer than ever to getting this done. I'll have more for you soon.
