Horse dewormer and Republican governance

We have a vaccine for COVID. It's clinically proven and has saved hundreds of thousands of lives.

... and yet, this pandemic drags on in part because people are being lied to. Republicans and right-wing media continue to tell people that vaccines can't be trusted, and neither can anyone who believes in vaccines. They're being told that a horse dewormer is a safer treatment.

Horse. Dewormer.

They're living in a dangerous, depressing, and downright scary fantasy world – where vaccines aren't ever safe, where COVID is a political lie, where Trump is president, and where down is up.

Horse dewormer is not safe to take for COVID-19. Let's get that out of the way. Anyone who says otherwise needs to pull their head out of the back end of the internet.

Know what else isn't safe? Republican governance.

I know it's a bit of an oxymoron these days, Republican governance, but the difficult truth is that if we don't fight as hard as we can, we'll be back to the days that Donald Trump and his allies cherish: government-funded cruelty, handouts for the giga-wealthy, scraps for the rest of us (if we're lucky), and stepped-up attacks on science, the world community, and reason itself.

I'm not a doctor, but I can absolutely write a prescription for this election: two doses of hard work, a lot of grassroots organizing, and a little generosity each day will get progressives where we need to go in 2022.
