My "neighbor" Chris
The Blue Wave in 2018 brought a huge set of new faces into Congress, offering new perspectives and new representation for faces long left out of the debate, and more honestly representing the communities they serve.
One of those new faces was our "neighbor" in New Hampshire, Congressman Chris Pappas.
Chris and his family have been fixtures in New Hampshire for a century, running the Puritan Backroom restaurant in Manchester, where he'll never be known as Congressman or Representative, just Chris.
But humble pillar of the community aside, make no mistake: Chris has been a phenom and valued partner from the moment he's joined Congress.
In less than one year, we have worked together to tackle polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) harming New England water supplies, and joined our colleagues in the New England Congressional Delegation to challenge the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) cuts in our communities and protect our local dairy farms.
Chris has also joined me in signing the No Fossil Fuel Money Pledge, ensuring he will never put his personal gain above the air we New Englanders breathe or the water we use.
In short, Chris will always put New Hampshire families and workers first.
And in a time when too many politicians cater to one-percenters and a privileged few, we can't afford to lose his voice in Congress.
