We're 28th.

As the brother of two Worcester public school teachers, I've been able to learn what policies yield the best outcomes for our community from two experts. Throughout our discussions, one thing is abundantly clear: investing in public education is the best way to ensure that each and every one of our kids has a chance to thrive academically, interpersonally, and professionally.

In Massachusetts, we're fortunate to have strong support for comprehensive early childhood development programs like Reach Out and Read, Head Start, and Child Care Development Block Grants. But, still, in many communities—particularly in lower-income communities and communities of color — resources are inadequate, leaving thousands of children on waitlists their families never see the end of.

The United States ranks 28th in early learning enrollment, with only 29 percent of four-year-olds enrolled in state-funded Pre-K.

But we can change that: House Democrats have just proposed a $4 billion increase to two federal programs that will provide additional Pre-K resources to innovative programs. Sign our petition and urge Congress to expand funding for Pre-K education.
