Policies to take Pride in

While the Trump administration seeks new ways to authorize bigotry, the House of Representatives has passed long-overdue legislation to guarantee equal rights and protections for LGBTQIA+ Americans.

Right now, federal law protects people from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, sex, age, ability, and veteran status. But there are no laws protecting LGBTQIA+ communities.

It's time we address discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity.

Without this legislation, LGBTQIA+ Americans will continue to be threatened by unjust firings, evictions, and other discrimination without any legal recourse – and to make matters worse, the Trump Administration peeled away the already-limited protections that existed – replacing them with harmful policies that further alienate and marginalize Americans.
