I voted in favor of two bipartisan, common-sense gun safety bills this month. The measures in these bills are supported by the majority of Americans.
We're worn from the grief of the massacres.
We're tired of trying to comfort the inconsolable parents whose children were killed.
We're fed up.
This Democratic majority in Congress is going to be run by the people of this country – not special interests like the NRA – especially not when our lives are at stake.
Our current system prioritizes the profits of gun manufacturers over people – law books are littered with loopholes that allow people who are prohibited from buying guns to buy them anyway.
In Massachusetts, we have the lowest firearm fatality rate among urban states. To me, that means prevention policies work. Nationally, we have the right and responsibility to implement and enforce common sense gun control laws.
