1,200 ÷ 365

Today marks the one-year anniversary of the horrific events at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Parkland, Florida. In the last year, nearly 1,200 children have died from gun violence.

Let me repeat that. In the 365 days since Parkland, nearly 1,200 of our kids have been gunned down.

The survivors of the Parkland shooting and their communities have demonstrated what activism should look like. Our kids shouldn't have to worry about their safety at school, in movie theaters, in parks, at places of worship — anywhere.

Right now, this is their "normal."

In Massachusetts, we have the lowest firearm fatality rate among urban states. To me, that means prevention policies work. Nationally, we have the right and responsibility to implement and enforce common sense gun control laws.

Join our fight. Sign our petition to urge Congressmembers to pass upcoming background check legislation.

We cannot stop fighting until there are zero lives lost to gun violence.
