People should not go hungry - but they do

Today is World Food Day, celebrated each year to create global awareness and action to eliminate hunger.

There is no reason that people anywhere should be hungry – especially not here, in one of the wealthiest countries on the planet. Hunger is a political problem – and solving it is one of my top priorities in Congress.

I'm helping lead the fight against the GOP's attempts to cut more than $23 billion in funding for SNAP and other critical programs as part of the Farm Bill.
