Tax dodger's tax plan

Donald Trump and his Republican allies promised lower taxes for the middle-class. But that’s been nothing but an empty promise.

The GOP's tax scam offered no long-term relief for working folks and, instead, lavished enormous benefits on the biggest corporations and the wealthiest 1 percenters.

Trump pretended his own taxes would go up under the GOP plan. But within hours of signing the tax bill, he turned around and told his pals at Mar-a-Lago, "You all just got a lot richer."

While the rich get richer, our federal deficit increased by $222 billion this year and is on track to hit more than $1 trillion by 2020, two years earlier than anticipated.

Now Republicans are angling to push additional tax cuts before the midterms, which will add even more to the deficit.

And they are sniffing around Social Security and Medicare to find the funds to pay for their reckless tax scam.

Enough!

Voting in a midterm has never been more important. Our nation already faces an uphill battle to reverse the catastrophic and unfair effects of the GOP tax scam. That hill will become even steeper if we don't take back Congress in November.
