kids deserve love, not hate

I'm proud to be a father and deeply proud of my two children, Patrick and Molly. And I'm always thinking about how to protect the world they're going to inherit—that's a big part of the reason why I'm so terrified of the direction that Trump and Trump's Congress are taking us in.

And the latest one is a doozy: the powerful House Appropriations Committee just voted to allow discrimination against the LGBTQIA+ community by passing an amendment saying it's ok for taxpayer-funded adoption agencies to prohibit same-sex couples from adopting.

This amendment is offensive. And wrong. I'll do everything I can to stop it from becoming law.

This isn't that hard. Same-sex couples are SIX times more likely to foster and FOUR times more likely to adopt children. Kids in need deserve loving parents, not bigoted thinking.

Sign the petition and tell House of Representatives: don't discriminate against LGBTQ families.

There are more than 100,000 children awaiting adoption nationwide, and House Republicans are pursuing ways to limit their access to loving homes.
