Sessions lied to the people - now he must resign

This is what it’s come to: America’s top law enforcement officer can’t be trusted.

During his confirmation hearings in January, Attorney General Jeff Sessions told the U.S. Senate that he “did not have communications with the Russians.” We now know that this is just not true: Over the course of Donald Trump’s campaign, Sessions met personally with Russia’s top diplomat – twice.

It’s time to call the Attorney General’s statement what it is: a lie.

Jeff Sessions lied to the American people – under oath, no less. Sessions has made clear that he’ll do anything to cover up evidence of the Trump administration’s connections to Russia, even if it means breaking the law.

The American people deserve better, and that’s why I’m calling on Jeff Sessions to resign.

In Congress, I’m doing everything I can to stand up for our civil rights and our democracy. Thank you for standing with me.
