Nothing is more outrageous—and preventable—than child hunger [petition]
My two sisters are public school teachers, and they taught me that school breakfast and lunch are just as important as any textbook or laptop for a child's learning.
At the start of the pandemic, Congress wisely passed funding for free school meals for all students. We saw participation soar, providing free school meals to more than 30 million children.
Last spring that provision ran out. Now families are back to filling out onerous paperwork to receive free school meals, and not every food-insecure family even qualifies.
No child should go hungry. Sign my petition today and urge Congress to fund universal school meals!
Nothing is more outrageous—and preventable—than child hunger.
Many states, including Massachusetts, have extended universal school meals for this school year. Three states have even made it permanent. They're already seeing great results!
I won't rest until every child in America has a healthy, free breakfast, and lunch at school every single day.
