a colossal loss

My wife Lisa and I are heartbroken about the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Justice Ginsburg was a trailblazer through and through. Her tenacity and intellect were unmatched. A true champion for women's rights and equal justice.

This is a colossal loss for our country.

Politically? Sure. Over the weekend movers and shakers on both sides of the aisle took to their drawing boards. But the real impact of what's at stake as the Trump administration reveals potential candidates is undeniable:

• Reproductive freedom.
• Worker protections.
• LGBTQIA+ equality.
• Campaign finance reform.
• Our ability to take on polluters to address climate change...

It's daunting. But she's taught us how to handle this.

Her leadership ignited a generation of feminists, her decisions made enthusiastic Constitutional law scholars out of everyday Americans, and her dissents gave voices to the voiceless. It's this energy that we must carry forward in the difficult days ahead.
